How do I flash them using ODIN? Ive only used it once and I was following a video guide soo I dont know to much about it

No problem..here is a link for a general guide for using ODIN.
It does a better job explaining than I would.

In your case, you only have 1 .tar file so you wont need to separate them.
Use the PDA box to install.

Flashed the recovery through ODIN and it worked perfectly. Went through with the rest of the guide and successfully rooted
