Sprint Customer Retention Program Begins 2/5/12

great find...

but sprint is showing how desperate they are... bleeding customers .
network is over taxed.
trying to slow the bleeding till the new network is up. but when?
they take away the every year upgrade.. then do this promo?
promo ends on Mar 18... the new better phone will come out after that date???
they just trying to move some of the old phones off the shelf... kill 3 birds with 1 stone.

i am stuck with sprint... but they are pissing me off

edit: my data speeds have gotten a LITTLE better... is because of a better network or.. less customers on the network? my guess; less customers

Network wouldnt be so bad if every pre paid carrier didnt use Sprints towers for their customers. You'd think Sprint would turn a profit off of that. Apparently they dont. So in the end us post paid customers get screwed over and over. 10 data fee for almost unusable data, loss of yearly upgrades, Employee Discount Changes etc...I'm seriously thinking about leaving Sprint. They offer me nothing anymore.

Unlimited data is nice if it works but I use wifi most everywhere. I hardly use data anymore.

I've been with Sprint for almost 11yrs, and Its been an up and down journey - pretty much down than up... to be honest. Why I stick with Sprint so long? It's not because of their "great" network connection, or their prodigious customer service skills. The "unlimited data" is why most of us are still willing to hang on this long.

If Sprint ever does away with unlimited data, that's when I say goodbye.

New to Sprint myself after jumping ship from Verizon. Unless you're real lucky, Verizon is no better. The service was no better, but the prices are higher. Customer support?? Non-existent. I had to get the FCC and the FTC involved just to get out of our contract! Finally they started replacing phones. One new phone and 8 refurbs in 2 months before they would admit that their service wasn't up to the task. In NJ, the only 4G is Sprint.

Unlimited data doesnt mean much to me because I hardly use data. I'm usually connected to wifi for the most part. When I travel is about the only time I use data. For GPS and such...

I hear ya, but there is a certain piece of mind you should have knowing that you won't have some outrageous charges on your phone from your data usage when you are traveling domestically.

I've been with Sprint 11 years. I currently have two lines with them (my wife and daughter). I recently got y daughter the iPhone 4s and sprint charged me an upgrade/activation fee. I was furious. I called and they did waive it but the jackass on the phone told me that he was entering a note into my account to never waive this fee again. My wife's contract is up in June and I'm switching her. When my daughters contract is up she's off too.

Maybe I have just been lucky, but in the 9+ years I have been with them they have treated me great. Toward the end of last year I had data problems periodically two months in a row and they credited my account, no problem whatsoever. I also happen to be in an excellent 3 and 4G area. I think it depends on where you are because Big Red certainly has their issues here. No carrier is going to be perfect for everyone and you just have to find the one that is right for you and your situation.
