Sprint Deductible Question?

About 2 days ago I got my HTC Evo 3D stolen. Today I called Sprint and they said I had to pay $100 for a deductible phone. So they sent me a one. My question is, is the deductible phone there sending me going to be a refurnished phone? Or is it going to be a new one? If it is a refurnished one, is there a way to get a new one?

toss up as to what you will get. odds are, however, it will be a refurbished. no way to guarantee a new unit other than to walk into a sprint store a purchase a new handset or order a brand new one online.

You don't get new phones when doing an insurance claim. It will be refurbished. If there is a manufacturer defect and you take it into a store you will get either, usually new, in my cases anyway.

I think it depends on the amount of stock. When my daughter dropped my 3VO and the digitizer broke, I filed a claim with Asurion and they sent me a brand spanking new device. However, it was maybe 5-6 weeks after release when this occurred.

Actually, you can get a new phone from an insurance claim. It depends on what is in stock at the time though. I have done an insurance claim a couple of times, once with my 3D, and have gotten a new phone. It just the luck of the draw at the time your claim is processed.

Yes I agree with isaemm here. I recently lost my Sense (pun intended) and let my nephew play around with my 3VO and then my 3VO went swimming in the toilet. I filed an Asurion claim and they sent out a new in box unit. You can tell the difference between New and Refurbs simply based on how it comes packaged... If it comes in the OEM packaging with charger, manual, etc then it is New; If it comes in a Generic Sprint box it is a refurb. Good Luck!

You can also tell its a refurb cuz it will have an Asurian sticker in the battery compartment.
