Sprint doesn't keep track of 4G Data usage?

Am I correct in that statement?

I've been with Sprint on the EVO since last June...and the data that shows up in the bill is WAYY to low, by many many GBs.

So, does sprint only keep track of 3G data usage?

Thanks,

Mooretime

that's correct. if you click on your usage history on the sprint website, the small print on the bottom of the pop up says "we can't show your 4g data usage here, however our 4g devices have unlimited access"

Wow...4G is awesome.
I'm going to use data to my heart's content. BIG time

They really do keep track, but given the efficiency wimax, it really does not matter. I would not, however, use it as a home internet connection or unlimited tethering, they can and will know.

What does it matter if they know I am using unlimited tethering if I am paying for the hotspot?

If you are paying for the hotspot you are limited to 5gigs of bandwidth, with hotspot.

The second problem is that your unlimited is limited if you interfer with the network. If you start to slow down your local connection you can and will be limited.

But they are required by federal law to keep all the websites, data used, and connection times, for federal search warrants.

Oy vey not this argument again. No you are not limited to 5 gigs when using the Hotspot. We did this argument last year in the forums and I got an email that stated no data cap whatsoever for the Evo even using the hotspot from Sprint. Having said that yes I completely agree that they have the right to limit high volume users and abusers and would probably exercise that right for repeat offenders.

Here are a few links to my posts in that thread:

Good to know, last time I read the TOS agreement it said 5 gigs tethered.

Yup, the HotSpot off your cell phone is unlimited for both 3G and 4G. When I first moved into my new condo, I activated it for a month while I was figuring out which cable internet service to use, and I used about 10GB on 3G that month. No overages. :)
