Help Sprint Evo 3D on Virgin

So I have been trying to get my Sprint Evo 3D to work on Virgin Mobile, i have gotten talk and text working but no 3g.
I was wondering if there would be an easier way to go about this since Ive heard that the Evo V is just a factory flashed Evo 3D?

How the heck did you do that?
Not that it's not possible, I've done it (Evo 4G), but how did you get that far without a clue on what you are doing? No offense intended, I'm trying to figure out how, if you can got that far, why are you asking how to finish or if there is an easier way.

Thing is, you either already did the hard part and should be able to finish, bought someones project, didn't actually do what you think, or you found a loophole. Once I know what you did, I can tell you how to finish, but it depends on how you got as far as you did.

As for the easy way... Yeah, you buy an Evo V.

what your donor phone, i might be able to help you out. Oh do you guys think it possible to get 4g with a sprint flashed evo?

I followed a guide from the XDA forums involving an Evo 4g, and also did a LOT of research on each program I was going to use because I have no prior experience in this field. My donor is an LG Optimus V. It wasnt too hard to get the meid and other important info onto my 3D but when I tried to use it for the first time I got an error 16 message so I just called up Virgin, on a separate phone, who transfered me to Sprint and they sent me a signal reset and I had talk/text. Now I am stuck with the 3g. I have my AAA key from the Optimus, which seems to be the most important piece of info, and I have used QPST Service Programming to get the required info onto the 3vo but ive had no luck getting data.
well im off to work for a 13 hour shift, but i will try to check back often, hopefully someone will be able to help me with this, and i will send a link to the guide if you PM me.

You wont get 4g.

You need an Evo V as a donor for 4g.

As for 3g, use DFS to get the rest of your info. You will have a VERY hard time using anything else as some programs won't show everything and some work on one phone but not another and will even swap things from plain text to hex. Once unlocked with LGNPST, DFS will read and write the data settings.

BTW: If i had known that this process would take this long I definitely would have bought the Evo V but I started this project close to a month ago just before the Evo V was revealed. I bought the 3vo during a Cowboom flash sale for $135 including shipping and tax and I still have the old $25 plan from virgin and I dont use my phone enough to justify spending an extra $10 each month for no reason(since I cant get wimax). I dont know a lot about this stuff and I assumed that since the Evo V was a factory flashed Sprint 3vo that there would be an easier way to change mine using a Virgin rom or something, like i said i dont know much about this stuff im just good at following directions lol.

I remember trying DFS towards the beginning of this project(before I knew much about what I was doing) but i remember getting a weird error, im at work now so i cant access it, is there a version that you would recommend and could you provide me with a link? :D

I did my Evo 4g for the same reasons about 5 months ago.
Took me around 25 hours to do (with 10 more of pointless effort), it's definitely involved.

It was worth it at the time, and a fun project, not so much anymore. I prefer having less hassle, factory support, and a completely legal setup.

Some have had better luck with older versions I guess. I haven't been paying as much attention to those doing the hacks lately. While I helped compile some of the info in the guides (not the quasi-legal parts), like I said, it's been months.

If you need can't get it and need the older version, let me know, I have the older version somewhere probably. It doesn't work early on because the OV has to be unlocked with LGNPST first and most don't realize it will help later on. It's something that should have been in the guides, and I was a bit annoyed when it was skipped.

OK, im so close. Ive got DFS 3.1.0.1 up and running, i sent my spc and password(assuming that it should be my AAA key) but when i click on read on the data page i get "cps error bad param". i have no idea how to use DFS so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Never heard of that error.
There is a thread on XDA for Evo 4g on Boost, those guys would probably know more.

Since I couldnt read info from my Optimus on DFS I decided to manually input all my data that I had written down onto my Evo. When I read it back it all stuck but i cant test it until tomorrow because im getting error 16 again which i have resolved before by calling sprint and requesting a signal reset but the office that does that is only open from 8am-1pm.

well i got my talk/text activated again and im still getting an error 67 on my Evo 3D. i checked all my settings in DFS and they all stuck so i have no idea why im not getting 3g. im very close to giving up.

check you pm. i sent you the exact tutorial i have used multiple times for the same procedure

i got it... kind of. well my 3g is working now, but only sometimes, it cuts in and out, and at times i lose the signal all together(i dont have the same problem on my Optimus.

i got to this point by converting my AAA password from hex to text.

i changed a lot of stuff trying to do some trial and error so i will go back and see if i messed something up.

i would say update radio or ensure you are using the vm prl....

well i went back and changed a couple things and ive got 3g working without drop outs now(its a bit slow but probably just the service i have). the prl im using is 22081 does anyone know the best current VM prl?

and as far as flashing roms and kernels, will i be safe flashing anything from evo v or evo 3D or do i need to treat this like an Evo 3D?

Well you can flash my Rom. But flash the sprintboot.IMG instead of the boot.IMG and it will work. If you flash my Rom without flashing the sprintboot.IMG then you will get bootloops. But any 3d Rom will work besides mms recieving

well i was having fun for a while, i flashed this ★☆★|ROM|Nightly|◄●|Synergy 3Dvo|●►|2.3.4|SQLite Journal / MPD CPU1 TWEAK|ZEUSMODS|★☆★ - xda-developers synergy rom which let me overclock to 1.72 but i could not get 3g(only 1x) working with any prl's so i tried this [ROM][Updated 2.6.12]viperROM Redline v2.5 RC2 |OC Daemon|viperControl|BEST BATTERY! - xda-developers viper rom which was alright but i had my 3g back so i decided to flash this [KERNEL]Silverneedle 1.0 (16-Aug-2011) - xda-developers silverneedle kernel on top of that to allow for ocing and that threw me into a boot loop, and now no matter how many things i wipe or format or restore i cannot get it to boot. ive already tried to flash a boot.img but that didnt do anything. any ideas on what i did wrong or how to fix it?

BTW: im using 4EXT

So everything has been going fine with my new phone, its super fast and I have a few emulators (GBA, N64, PSx) that I love, but one thing has been bugging me since I switched over. I used to get 3g speeds around 1mbps on my Optimus but now im only getting 100kbps on my Evo 3D even after a small speed hack. I have tried many different prl's and roms(im using Synergy now and I only get 1x but its just as fast my 3g speed on other roms). Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
