Not sure try calling VM and ask them if you can use it on their service......... you never know they might say yes

Virgin will tell you that they only allow their phones on the service, trying to flash it to work is a nightmare that's just not worth it. Sell your Evo and pay the difference for a new phone.

Or just try to activate it normally without telling them its an Evo 3D hell most of the Evo V's say Sprint instead of Virgin Mobile if they say something tell em that's the way your Evo V 4G came they might buy it......

I'm pretty sure their system will reject the ESN.
The only outside phone they have allowed was the Optimus S.

Just because HTC's hired help missed a flash, that doesn't mean every Evo 3d will work.

Would be nice, but I doubt it.
