While I was in Sprint they explained to me that my HTC EVO 4g will no longer be capable of operating on the 4g network. They said that this would happen with the network/tower changes they are making. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

If this is true....... Could this pose legal concerns for Sprint or no? It seems completely ridiculous that a phone titled "HTC EVO 4G" will no longer be able to live up to it's name.

Well the evo 4G did live up to it's name. It's no longer in production, there have been two evo models since the original evo 4G. I don't think that sprint is required to support end of life devices.

I believe it's because sprint is switching their 4G from wimax to lte. Lte is faster and an upgrade. The old evo 4G ran on the old wimax towers. It was indeed a 4G phone but sprint is upgrading and that means the old wimax devices won't be working on the lte towers.

Nothing can last forever, right?
