Help Sprint Galaxy Nexus reception issues?

Bu7ane

Lurker
I just got a Galaxy Nexus the other day!!! Anyways, it's running 4.0.4 on Sprint. I have updated my PRL and my profile so everything on the phone is up to date.
Here is my problem. I have a constant -100 dbm 1 asu signal.
Also, I'm in an area that doesn't get 4G LTE but the 3G connection is really bad. In fact, I was gonna do a speed test to post here but it wont even connect. Yesterday I think i got like 265 kbps.
I upgraded from an old HTC Hero and I never had these problems.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I was thinking of exchanging it for a new one. Or should I try and get the HTC Evo 4g LTE?

Did you have an issue with your old Sprint device in the area you are currently in?

Also did you receive the FD02 update - it's supposed to fix some data connectivity issues.

No problems at all with the other device.

I believe that my phone is up to date. It looks as though I do have it
Baseband version
L700.05 V.FD02 / L700.FD02

Very strange - will Sprint tech support get you out a new device to make sure its not this particular phone?

If it is not just that device, but the Nexus in general might try going with the Evo.

I just got back from the Sprint store. The guy said that I was the only one that came to him with that issue. He ordered me a new one so hopefully that one doesn't have the same problem.

same numbers for me on my Sprint Nexus. My old Hero seemed to have better phone reception at my home and work....
Do I need to call Sprint??

I am seeing a slightly lower reception on my Nexus than my old OG Droid, but nothing that greatly affects the usage of the phone.

I'm having the same issue. 3G is very bad compared to my old evo. On my drive to work I could stream audio with the evo almost the entire time with a few small spots of slow data. I drove in this morning with my Nexus and about 40% of the drive I could not stream audio.

wirefly are swapping out my Sprint Gnex. I am in a 4G area but its not turned on yet (I think as I cant get the 4G graphic)

We shall see, love the phone though

Can I back up phone and all pics, apps etc to my PC then reimport them to the replacement all in one go?
