Sprint lied to me about 4g in my area

Who lied, sales person? There is a shocker... Don't get too upset about it though, spring 4G is about 10x slower than Verizon's. It's nice when you can get it, but most of the time I'm in a 4G area I don't bother turning on the 4G radio.

We have Clear whoring Internet in my area and we still don't have 4G in Phoenix.

I get paper bills every month. They said that they are pleased to announce that there is 4G coverage in my area. Not the biggest deal, but I don't understand why they do stuff like that.

Haven't been in River Vale, but I've gotten 4G in northern NJ. Secaucus, Rutherford, and into Paramus. The coverage in northern NJ seems to be greatly impacted by the density of homes, buildings, trees, and other obstacles. Not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if part of the problem also are the number of local restrictions on tower height, which hurts Wimax distribution if the tower site is no higher than existing cell towers.

The coverage in Philadelphia and suburbs is crazy strong and fast. Definitely Clear set up better there than in NJ. The Phila signal's so strong, I get it easily anywhere in Burlington County that's within 5-10 miles of the Delaware River.

Northern NJ has a lot of gaps.

I didn't mean to sound like a whining bitch. I guess the point of this post is to take 4g with a grain of salt, atm.

I'm sitting in the Newark airport on 4G right now.

I've found 4G to be very spotty. I'll have real good 4G signal then --poof--, 3G.

10x slower, really? I get 3mb/s to 5 mb/s conisently on 4g. If verizon is 10x faster then that means Verizon is 3 times faster than my cable broabband connection. I think your math is off, bud.

Yes, really! Verizon's LTE speeds make my cable modem look like a joke. 10x was over my previous best of maybe 2mbps on 4G. I've since bettered 5mbps when I found a un-subscribed Clear tower a couple miles from my house.

Play with one, you will be shocked and awed.

I'm not jumping ship from Sprint but I know when I'm beat

I keep promising a better screen shot... The phone is a friend's son's phone so I need them both in one place to play with it. I can assure you the above was VERY repeatable and it was the 4G connection. The wifi was WAY slower.

Errors are often very repeatable. I once hit 300mbps repeatably with wimax, after I reconfigure the the card, it calmed down.

But you do really understand what those numbers mean? No you don't. But please, dont stay with sprint, go to verizon, it is better there for you.

Wow - who pissed in your Wheaties? Get over yourself.

I bow in defeat to your greatness oh master of all things mbps

No one said that speed test the end all to be all or even accurate, but it is something a lot of Evo users are familiar with. Next time I'll be sure to check with you before I dare use my phone let alone look at other provider's offerings. Deal?

Please keep the discussion civil, gentlemen. If you can't (or won't) do that, then please refrain from posting to avoid any unpleasantness.
