Sprint Moto X has tiny sim card. Why?

I see the Sprint Moto x has a sim card its tiny but why, could somebody explain if Sprint is CDMA?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the sim?

Let say I loose it, report it can it still be use if I use a different sim card ? what about another carrier?

Most carriers have moved to SIM cards. However, this does NOT mean that the devices will work on ANY carrier. This change happened with the release of 4G (for Verizon anyway).

The SIM is for the LTE radio. Sprint and Verizon both use the SIM for this purpose.

Okay I didnt have a sim on my Galaxy S3 or its not visible?

Is there something special about it I read something in another forum about he tried using sprint moto x and work for t-mobile.
