Ok today in the morning i got a notification to update my phone so it said install now or later i clicked install now well after that it said it will restart so it restarted now it keeps on restarting every 30 secs i turned it off and tried to go in recovery mode but it just restarts normally and i can't do factory reset because it does the same ****. In 30 secs i tried and went to factory reset in android setting but when i click on it nothing happens. Is there a way to flash a recovery with fast boot? Or can i format the SD Card from the phone but will it erase the os? Please help i need this phone by towmorow

yeah from fastboot the command in adb/fastboot would be "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

make sure the recovery you want to flash is in the platform-tools folder and renamed to "recovery" (instead of twrp, cwm etc.)

When i try to unlock bootloader to flash new recovery the cmd says dns not authoritative for zone ? How do i fix this been searching on google but nothing came up

are you able to see your device from the computer when its in fastboot?

"fastboot devices"

if youre on windows try without the $

When i go in i type devices but it says the same thing. Did i do it wrong? I got all the drivers i need it. Is there a step by step also my Moto x fast boot says Transfer Mode USB connected and in the bottom it says getvarall.

Quick question how do i install this update its not a android update its a software update from Motorola to fix camera issues

Im rooted i have a recovery in my computer that i use to fastboot how do you install the recovery on the phone? The reason i had the restarting issue was because i tried to install this update. Its tells me to update when i check for updates.

from my understanding if you are rooted, have a recovery, and an unlocked bootloader system updates tend to not work. you would have to return to completely stock w a relocked bootloader in order to sys update w out problems.

or... find a custom rom or flashable zip that has these updates included in it.

Then i should wait a while when roms pop out because there's not so many and the bugs they fix don't matter that much if it was a android update then it will be more important do you think rooting your phone is a great choice because my old evo i rooted just to overclock but this phone came out last month.

i usually root so i can remove bloatware, oc, install custom roms, etc. it really all depends on what you want to do with your phone.
