I was thinking of switching to sprint to get the iphone 4 since its $0 with a two year contract but then again I dont know if I should just stay with metro and get the lg esteem. Since ive been wanting it for a while. I cant afford the 500 for the gs3. So yeah what to do?

If you switch to sprint i would suggest getting the gs2 or gnex there 50 and 100 each. Way better then an i phone.

As long as there is the monthly rate difference there is now between contract and no contracts AND $300+ early get out fees the chance of me committing to a two year contract are up but non-existent.

Bruce in Ocala, FL

Bought the Gnex straight from google. ($200 cheaper than the S3. :D ) Will be running on Tmobiles BYOD $60 unlimted talk text 2Gb data plan.

Still.......No contract :D

If you can afford $200 dollars go with the iPhone 5 16GB instead or a Samsung GS3 if you're thinking about signing a contract. It will be worth it in the long run.

Or you can just buy a used LG Esteem.

I have the same dilemma (Sprint vs. Metro PCS) but for a difference reason.

I live in the Metro Detroit area and I've had Sprint for the last 5 years or so.

After reading so much about Sprint building their WiMax coverage out, I took a chance and bought the Galaxy S2 4G because of the rumors that Detroit was next on the 4G rollout. About 2-4 weeks later, I learned WiMax was going to get cut.

The only reason I'm still with Sprint is because I'm on their Sero plan. If the "new" rumors are correct, Detroit should be full 4G LTE by April. I pay $50 a month for my plan (500 mins, unlimited everything else). For $5 more a month, I can jump on Metro PCS 4G right now.

I like having Sprint's phone selection and the fact I would get their high end phone for a fraction of the cost at Metro PCS. I also don't care signing another 2-year contract because I would be locked in for $50 a month. BUT, I can't stand Sprint's Detroit LTE rollout.

Suggestions? Thoughts? Advice?

I would say metro, and get a LG motion; we already have LTE. Take advantage of the promo plan before its gone. Metro is starting to get better devices (GS3) and I think the motion is awesome But that depends on the coverage in your area.

Btw do you have that extra $10 charge for wimax?

If you sign another contract with Sprint there is a good chance your monthly bill could go up. I was with Sprint too for awhile and their 3g got to be too slow for me. Metro here in my area in Michigan seems to have a decent connection, i average around 4-5mbps.

If I signed a new contract now, I would be locked into my $50 a month price for 2 more years. Since I wouldn't be on a contract with Metro PCS, I'm worried THEY would up the bill at anytime.

4-5 MBPS is plenty for me. How is the cell/phone coverage? I live in Farmington Hills.

Yes. My SERO plan is $40 + $10 Smartphone fee = $50 a month

you have nothing to worry about. if you got the $40 plan that rate and plan is locked in for as long as you maintain your account.

I wouldn't mind if they merge. I have both. I keep my metro for personal use, where my Sprint is for business.
