Help Sprint Pre-Paid - Bypass Activation

Picked up one of these on sale at BestBuy with the idea for using it as a WIFI only device. Everything seemed to go well at first. The device has been rooted successfully.

What I cannot seem to stop from happening is the Self Service Activation Tool from launching each time the phone comes on. After failing the activation, it then proceeds to leave an icon on the main menu bar that shows Invalid SIM and it will not go away.

Is there any way around this ?

I have attached images of the items I am asking about.

I have tried some suggestions from other forms such as changing the LGDMSClient.apk to .bak as well as using Titanium to freeze the com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel . Both were mentioned in other locations to stop the activation from coming up but it still does.

Any else have any other suggestions on what I might be missing ?

Since you are rooted you can just freeze the Self Service app (activation.apk). This will prevent the device from trying to activate again, but not sure it will help with the SIM card icon or not.

If it doesn't you can try freezing the Sim Toolkit app (LGstk.apk) and see if that will prevent the icon from popping up.

That actually worked perfectly. Thank you a ton ! I kept looking for something with Sprint in it to freeze. Never thought of looking for something as simple as activation.apk
