[Sprint] should i switch to sprint

someone referred to the online referral program? Sprint | Everything Plus(SM) Referral Program but what i wanna know is if i can get the evos through amazon and the plan through the referral program or how does this program even work? the evos are much cheaper at amazon
Dan, this is a good point. I (really) hope you're right. I would like to know the answer to this. one last yearly upgrade would make my day!

Dude, I don't think that you will be able to use amazon if you plan on going through the employee referral program that the other guy mentioned. If you use amazon then sprint would recognize amazon as the one who referred you instead of the employee, and you would have to go with the 1500 plan.
I PMed ya but I'll answer here in case someone else is curious...
Normally you have to buy the phone from Sprint. However I was able to get a Radio Shack to upgrade an Evo for me when I bought my Evo. This is obviously a YMMV but BB technically could do it also if you find an employee not lazy enough to call Sprint. Keep in mind these are upgrades not activations so likely you will have to order through Sprint originally.
The advantages are cheaper add a line. Basically since Sprint did away with discounts reflecting "Add a line" this deal got a little better because any line past 2 like you said is $5 cheaper.
The other advantage would be no activation fee.
If you get a big discount from your employer then this might not be worth getting. (You didn't specify your discount so I can't do the math)
Since I don't have any discounts through any of the cell companies(unless I possibly do some shady workaround)then the Sprint deal is sooo much better then any other company atm.
Like he pointed out the Premier Program is getting changed and most will no longer qualify for a new upgrade every year.
With Amazon I believe two things are different...One is they charge activation which adds about $36 to the actually cost of the device. The other I am pretty sure they add their own ETF on top of what Sprint charges. So instead of just $200 to cancel for a set amount of time it may be $200 through Sprint then $150 or so from Amazon. This I am not positive about but I know some of these companies do this.
Tomorrow we will know more on what Sprint has planned for the future. I stand by my previous statement though of purchasing through CL or Ebay. I have come to find its the best way to do things. When I signed up the Optimus was free so I had to jump on that deal since it had no MiR.
If you get from CL or Ebay make sure to check ESN. I would also put on the insurance for a month or two to make sure everything is kosher. You can take it off at anytime but it needs to be put on within 30 days of activating the new device.
I am pretty sure Sprint charges $20/line for the everything Data family plan.

5 lines with Smartphones = $130+$20+$20+$20+$50(for using data)= $240 + Taxes and such. Minus any corp discount on the $130 plan itself. No discount on the additional lines.

$130 first two lines
$20 for extra line
$30/3 evos' data
total 180 + taxes ($15.00)=195- corp discount ($19) = 176!!!
att with 3 lines:
$68 for 1500 min
$20 for 2 extra lines
$30 unlimited messagin
$30 iphone plan/line 1
$30 iphone plan/line 2
$25 smartphone/ line 3
total = 203 + taxes ($17) - corp discount ($20) = 200!!!!

The savings was good for me when I switched, but the fact that I have not ever had issues with connection are what mattered.
The good news is you'll also likely get a decent amount for your "certified pre-owned" iPhones.

Yes. I live in NJ and travel DC-Boston corridor regularly. No connection issues. Most importantly, where I live and spend 95% of my time (Phila-NJ-NYC), I haven't EVER failed to connect or lost a call (with the exception of during a software upgrade that Sprint had to push to my phone because of SprintTV). My data experience has been very positive. 3G was about the same speed as ATT, but I get more coverage than ATT. Since I live and do business in a lot of Wimax coverage, it's been AWESOME.
Sprint was not good for me 5 years ago when I last seriously considered them, but it's clear that they've made significant progress in coverage, reliability, and customer service.
People say Sprint's CS isn't good, but I've not had that experience at any store, via phone, or online.
I didn't think Unlimited Data mattered, but it does. With the Evo and Wimax, I do much better than I could on ATT. I never consider the comparisons of Wimax to 3G fair speed-wise so ATT always loses.

Remember, you are only getting the discount on the $130 part. The rest are extras, which dont qualifiy.
I dont have any connection problems with Sprint. But my Data is very slow considering I am in the DC-Metro Area. I see average speeds of 800-900Kbps.
I cant even watch youtube half the time. The added kick to the pants is the "Premium data" fee.
True on the discount part. 800-900 is what I see on 3G at my home, but that's sadly about 800-900 more than I ever got on ATT. Much better with 4G now.
As to the fee, think of it more as the cover charge to being in the Sprint club. I guess I use enough data regularly (especially with 4G) that it's better than thinking "when am I going to hit the next toll booth" like other carriers. Those 2G marks only take days to reach, and I can easily jam through them when I'm out and about in NYC.

does anyone know the "surcharges" for 3 lines around how much for here in texas. the surcharges are on top of the reg taxes right?
