[Sprint] Trouble flashing 4.2 ROMs.

Newbie
Every time I try to flash one the setup crashes. And after trying to flash 3 of them I now have 3 different folders with my SD contents in them. Is that normal? I'm new to the whole internal storage thing, I just got my galaxy nexus 4 days ago. I think the setup and stuff crashing has to do with the gapps. I'm not sure if I'm using the right ones. Can anyone help?

Ok, a couple things here.

1) Make sure you are running the latest TWRP build. Easiest way is to install Goo Manager on a rooted rom, hit the three dots for "menu" and flash open recovery script. It will install the latest twrp. Super easy to do instead of messing with fastboot commands.

2) You need to have 4.2 gapps. I agree that it's probably what is causing your issues. Get the gapps by bigrushdog by downloading the gapps in this thread.

The multiple folders issue should be fixed if you're running the latest twrp....it's one of the 4.2 bugs that is kind of being ironed out still. basically 4.2 will dump all your sd card contents into the /sdcard/0 directory and you won't have any way to view the true /sdcard directory unless you flash back to a 4.1.x rom. I think you can also move files around with adb that way, but I've never tried doing that.

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping its the gapps. The only other ones I have found were the ones that were put out the 6th that said next gen gapps or something. I have the latest TWRP, so that's weird that it isn't working for me. I found a thread that is suppose to have some fix for it so I'll probably just try that. Thanks again.

It more than likely IS the gapps. The majority of issues that people are experiencing on 4.2 ROM's can be attributed to gapps.

It was the gapps. I got a couple ROMs to install and start up without issue, but it still messes up the SD card.

I think I'm just gonna wait a little while to try again. 4.2 seems nice, but it really isn't that different from 4.1.
