Root [Sprint] Warning all s4 root users and odin!

If you have a Sprint Galaxy S4. Do not flash anything in Odin until you check your model number.

IF YOU FLASH ANY MODEM OR FULL RESTORES CROSS L720 AND L720T YOU CAN AND VERY WELL MIGHT BRICK.

The problem that I had using Odin to root my S4 (at& t) was that it completely removed my stock recovery mode. It is also impossible for me to upgrade to 4.3 or KitKat 4.4. Despite the problems listed above, my s4 works great and remains fully rooted. Maybe there is a connection between the phone bricking and not having its stock recovery mode. My phone has bricked a few times, every time it was fixed by simply taking the battery out for 10 minutes.

Than those aren't 'bricks'.
Any device only has 3 modes in my opinion.
1 Functional.
2 Soft brick.
3 Hard brick.

1. Obvious.
2. Your system will NOT boot. But download mode and recovery are accessible.. at least download.
3 Your screwed.. fried CPU or some crap. lol
In this case since you simply did a battery pull.. and got it working.. I'd say that falls under category 1. ;)

Just curious, can sph-l720T phones be rooted via Odin, without tripping Knox?

Towelroot since the latest sprint updated, plugged the hole that towelroot was using and now no longer works, it says the phone is unrecognized or something like that. I don't see towelroot as an option now either considering the dev now works for Google, so towelroot won't be getting an update, so odin is the only way now.
So I just wondered if you could root via Odin without tripping Knox...... All I want is a root, no recovery nothing, and I also do not want to trip Knox.
To my knowledge if you use Odin it doesn't trip Knox, it's when you install a custom recovery that Knox gets tripped, please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

truthfully.. that's a question I don't know if I can answer. I can say I'm under the same impression as you. just recovery trips Knox. but I could be wrong. as far as I knew towel root still worked..

Yeah it does, it depends on the kernel your on. Nc6 kernel it works fine. However sprint sent out an update that plugged the hole in this phone and if the kernel is before June 3rd towelroot works fine however anything past that date towelroot doesn't work.
I don't know if I can flash an older date kennel for this phone or not, and I think it will trip Knox if I do, and that's if I can even find an ng5 kernel before June 3rd to begin with, which I highly doubt.

I'm wondering if flashing a kernel via Odin will trip Knox or not, that would be the first thing to find out. If it won't then comes the chore of looking for a ng5 kernel dated older than June 3rd.
I also wonder how hard it would be to extract or get an image of say my kernel on this phone to share with others.
