I only have 5 days left!

and..
EVO Shit is $150 with new CPU and more RAM and Keyboard....

will the EVO drop too? Maybe $150 as well?
Was the bolded part a typo? LOL

No, you should not see the Evo drop in price any time soon. Price depends on demand and competition (and the quality of the product, see Samsung Moment half-priced after being released for a couple months). There hasn't been anything released at Sprint that would compete with the evo or hinder its sales. It is still the flagship and as far as i know demand is still pretty high (especially just by looking at these few posts).

I expect that the Epic dropped in price, at this point after the initial rush of Epic purchases, because the Evo is kicking its ass in sales numbers (for whatever reasons that I am not going to bother speculating about).

So the Evo will make an drop in price when one of two things occur. 1- Some other phone at Sprint, of comparable status, starts gobbling up Evo market share (will the price drop of the Epic cause this to happen?), or 2- An upcoming announcement for the Evo successor planned to occur, and a price drop is necessary to quickly evacuate as many Evo models in stock as possible before people begin to 'hold out' for the new release.

Personally, I believe that this 20% drop in price, that only brings the Epic down to equal price of the Evo, will hardly have any impact on the comparable sales numbers between the two phones (though apparently someone at Samsung does). In addition, the Epic's price drop may be for others reasons (Nexus S variant coming to Sprint? ***This is complete speculation on my part!***) but not as likely as a market share ass kicking by Evo.

ANYWAYS, What I was getting to is this (ready for a ton of speculation?):
The successor to the Evo will likely hit this Summer (june'ish if i had to guess?). The announcement will probably occur about 60 days from the release date (build up period). And considering Sprint has a 30 day window for returns, the price drop would probably begin well outside that 30 mark of the announcement (stock elimination period before the consumer holdout). So if I had to guess, we won't see a price drop in the Evo until sometime around mid February to early March.

But anyways, without a doubt I can guarantee you this much about when the real price drop will occur... no one here knows for sure.;)

No reason for price to drop. Epic did because Samsung can't sell as many as they planned. I never see anyone buying them.

Evo price *may* drop as a response to the Verizon iPhone... However, nothing is guaranteed.

So buy now with the best information you've got, and if within 30 days the price drops, great. If not, then don't sweat it as you got the best deal you could under the circumstances.

I just saw that Sprint/HTC dropped the Epic $50 down to $199. Anyone have a clue as to if there will be a price drop for Evo anytime soon?

Probably not until spring, when new phones are launched and sales go down. Right now the Evo is the best selling droid device out.
