Spyware and other maladies!

Since I access the Internet on my phone, is it going to be vulnerable to Spyware and other stuff?

If so, are there ways to clean it out?

Thanks

Any phone you go onto the internet with has the potential to get something. Stay on trusted sites and you will be fine.

There isn't much in the way of Spyware ( at the moment) that affects android devices just through the browser. What you should be weary of are malicious apps. Always make sure to read the comments on apps. Look at any other apps a developer has released and the comments on those.

As far as websites i open all the suspicious mail i receive on my phone with no issues. Most spyware that is website based is directed at windows machines.

Don't be so sure about that.

It has been talked about recently that malware is starting to show up for anroid. Here are a couple of articles on that:

The fact of the matter is that there are evil people on this worls....some that think it is fun to give misery to others. Do not think for a moment that someone is not out there trying to figure a way to steal your personal information from your android device.

I would rather be safe than sorry.

Any of the free scanners should work for you. I use "Antivirus Free" from Creative Apps. It scans everything I download off the google play store. It doesn't scan while you surf the web though. For me I just need it for the apps I download. I don't do much web browsing with the phone. That's what I use my computer for.

I use both Lookout and Avast as virus scanners. Avast is good because it scans both the phone memory and the SD card.
