SQUARE - Register App

Hi All,

I just installed the Square reader app (Register) on my Lenovo Idea Pad.

When I click on it, it states "Square is finding your location", and that's the name of that tune. Nothing else. Just keeps grinding away, and away, and away. I'm way out in the middle of the desert, but I can't be that hard to find .

Any ideas. I just installed it today.

Your device has a different GPS to most smart phones and tablets which may not be reporting the location to Square's servers properly.

In order to build a safe application on a specific device, when using Square the geo-location must be turned on at all times. Square needs to know where transactions take place to minimize risk associated with each transaction and to minimize chargebacks.

Thanks, droidcentric.

It finally "found me", but now the reader won't read my card....and.....there is no way for manual input on that screen.

I have emailed Square support, so maybe they'll get back with me one of these days, but I won't hold my breath . Actually, I have no experience with them at all, so I guess I shouldn't pre-judge, but 99% of customer support is worth EXACTLY what you pay for it.
