Help Squeezebox App

Kevian

Lurker
Guys,

I have GT-I9000 phone and FT3 with Tim's 4e ROM. I was able to install logitech's squeezebox app on my phone to control my SB Touch. But I am not able to find the same app in android market for installation on to FT3. It turned out that FT3 is not among google registered android devices. So, limited access to Android Market. I've read on different thread that we can get the desired apk file in dropbox via your phone and get it back on FT3 for installation. I've searched my phone for logitech squeezebox apk with search tool and couldn't find it. Googling for the SB apk file too didn't yield any results. So, anyone here succeeded installing Logitech Squeezebox Controller android app on Flytouch Superpad? if so please share it here.

Thanks in anticipation.

Warm Regards
Kevian

There are a few options you have, using your phone, install or use any of these:

Super Manager https://market.android.com/details?id=gpc.myweb.hinet.net.TaskManager, can create an apk backup from your phone app.

Astro File Manager - use the app backup to get an apk file https://market.android.com/details?id=com.metago.astro, again can create single apk backups

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup - phone needs to be rooted, and can create apps backups. This one creates Titanium Backups - so you need the app installed on the tablet too to restore apps from backed up apps.

Create the backup on your phone, get the backed up data from the phone SD card to the Tablet SD Card, over the wifi network, ftp device to device, sd card in & out of the devices, use the dropbox folders option, etc etc, however you prefer to do this is again your choice.

When you create the backup using apk managers, like Super Manager or Astro File Manager, they are not always saved using the filenames you would expect, you have to know exactly where on the card you are saving the backups to so you can navigate there easily enough, Titanium uses the right names should you wish to choose that method.

Once it is on your tablet sd card, install it to the tablet.
