St. Louis 3G Rumor

New rumor as stated by one of the reps at the St. Louis Mills store.

STL 3G backed up to 3Q 09.

Epic fail!

I have heard everything from end of January to beginning of October, now. The guy even said that it was supposed to be here in Feb 08.

However, I don't put much stock in store reps. They don't seem to know much about anything. That's pretty sad. When I was selling phones for a 3rd-party vendor, I tried to keep on top of all 3 services we were selling (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon).

I'm hoping you're right. 3Q would suck. I'd be halfway through my new contract by then and the G2 will have released.

Is there a TMO published document that lists planned 3G upgrades? My local store rep told me April 2009 for Hampton Roads, Virginia. I have searched the TMO web site, but don't find any 3G rollout details.

Cryptic79, I'm from STL too and pissed we haven't got 3g yet. More bad news:

ST. LOUIS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I've basically given up on switching to t-mobile. Just gunna wait for another provider to get an android phone later this year I guess :(

Was just told by my TMO rep that their engineers are saying September time.

3G is great if downloading a lot or large files but when I travel, I think the phone itself is what makes the difference. Meaning if the phone is fast then Edge will do fine for most users. I've streamed music on Edge and my G1 never stopped. What I've noticed is my connection drops and I have to restart my phone. Not that big of a deal until I'm trying to look at something for someone and have to tell them to wait.

I noticed a huge difference in browsing when I was in KC about 6 weeks ago.

Hopefully Sept is for real this time. I'm tired of not having it.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I just walked outside at work (Florrisant area, STL) and 3g just popped up on my phone.....

I'm up in Florissant and found that my G1 is showing "3G" instead of "E" on my connection.

Frankly I'm not seeing that much of a difference - maybe I'm not using it right :)

Just confirming the report.

I noticed a speed difference on mine. xbox.com loaded much faster today. Sadly inside my building im still barely on E, and down towards my house (festus) 3g drops back down to E. So I can only get 3g in the car....
