Standard Text messaging App and group messages

I'm currently using Handcent SMS and have it set as the default. I mainly use this because use group messaging. I used Google voice app today, for texting which was cool but it ended up sending 2 messages. I'm guess from both text apps. Any thoughts on how to fix this? I'm guessing if I remove Handcent it would only send one? Thanks,

Andy

If you are not using the default messaging app at all, you can disable it. Just go into settings, manage applications, swipe over to all and select messaging, then click disable.

I believe this would make Handcent the new default and only send through it.

There should be an option in Handcent to make it the default app and that should disable the stock messaging app. I believe all play store texting apps have that option somewhere in the setting.

Thanks for the responses. That is how I have my Handcent set up.

However I think I described my problem incorrectly. I'm having an issue when using the Google voice widget. It's sending out 2 text messages. I was thinking it has to do with the fact I have 2 texting applications.

So the issue is the Google Voice Widget when I send a text the person receiving the text gets 2. Thoughts?
