Help start screen weather

On th start screen there is a weather app which gives the local weather and can also give a forecast. This seems to be a preinstalled app. Is it possible to remove it or stop it running?

Yes, its just a widget.press and hold until u feel a little vibration and then drag it to the bin below,job done
