Start up & shutdown sounds question.

Hello all. Can anyone please tell me how turn off the startup & shutdown sounds on my phone? I find these sounds unnecessary.

Stock ROM, or rooted w/ a custom ROM? It makes a difference.

I'm of no help to you right now then. I haven't seen a stock ROM in over a year and a half. LoL! Sorry man, maybe someone else can chime in and help you out.

Thanks for replying anyway. What are the benifits of modifying my ROM? am new to this area of modding.

With a Sprint Hero, the benefit of installing a new ROM is that it greatly improves the speed and function of your handset. The speed is improved by allowing you to overclock the processor, and the function is improved by allowing the handset to run a higher version of Android than what is supported by HTC and Sprint.

It works just fine. Now my Hero is Quietly Brilliant.
