Help start up sound too loud

does anybody know if i can turn off the start up sound when switching on the phone its so loud and doing my head in!

Welcome to the forums, heather.

You do not need to silence your device prior to shutting down to remedy the loud start-up sound.

Go to menu > settings > sound and display > system volume.

Turning that all the way down, or to a low level, has no effect on media, notification or ringer volumes.

frisco, with wildfire you have separate sound and display settings, and in volume there is no systen volume, however there is an app called volume ace which has system volume, see screenshots....if i could load them
grrr why is this the only forum that i can't load my screenshots on

download the app called volume ace from market

I'm about to download an app called Silent Boot. I've been putting phone on silent before I switch off. It seems that this app will do it for me.
