Starting a project

portal

Lurker
Hello guys! This is your chance, as a community, to invoke an idea inside me and my crew whomever they may be when this starting phase is finished.

So far, we're about 3-4 people with a solid background in client/server (Runegard) and we plan to bring a game to the Android, but we want you to help us.

Currently the ideas we have on the table are:

2D sprite, or possible 3D openGL "2D view"
Role playing game
MMORPG? Ya? Android needs some right
Social and community based (we're playing on phones right?)
Turn based or action

Let me know what you think. We're no big studio like EA Games or anything, but we have passion and have been running Runegard (which is technically emulated but not) for 3 years+ now for free built from the ground up.

We are "true" players like you. Not what big studios want you to think.

Drop me ideas

the more games and projects for the android the better! what if you were to make a rpg, with a first person view like oblivion? i think that would be worth considering. doesnt have to be an mmo, but im a sucker for a good rpg. especially with mobile gaming.

Not sure if theres anything like this on android or not but kind of a turn based RPG arena style game. Players build a character, do quests etc for rewards based off of PvP battle. Using a ATB stlye turnbased game play. balance would be a pain in the ass but I think if done right could be a fun game. graphics wouldnt have to be the best if the balance and skills etc are done well.

Have actually thought about a turn based "arena" game.

I'm not 100% familiar with ATB. I have played final fantasy 3,4 and 9.

2d? maybe something like an MMORPG zenonia-like game? or maybe along the lines of the DS' final fantasy crystal chronicles/ rings of fate

a multiplayer competitive JRPG style game would be a last. ATB would have to be implmented somehow so players dont leave during their turn and draw the battle along.

I actually am doing a little research into this. We're starting to do the planning and ideas.

I actually just played FF 3, 4, 9 and 10 since my last post on here. We're serious about this stuff.

The ATB system seems nice, but I really liked the 10 style. I'll keep you guys posted.

I'm a fan of the game Triple Triad from Final Fantasy (8 I believe, but it might've been 9). If you could port that over as a card game I'd be so in.
