Root Startup and Shutdown Video

Now that there's a root it's much easier to play and customize...

Does anyone know where the MetroPCS startup and shutdown animations are located at?

EDIT: Found the shutdown "animation"... About 50 .png files.

Still don't know where the startup animation is.

I renamed shutdown to shutdownoff and it no longer plays the pictures. Am I correct with assuming that I can just put a picture or pictures that I want in the shutdown folder and it will be happy?

its the same as before, replace pictures with same file names.

startup animation is a proprietary file type and cannot be edited.

changes will have to be made to allow different startup animation type.

I managed to stop the metropcs boot screen from showing by renaming /system/media/bootsamsung.qmg to bootsamsungoriginal.qmg and copied over a bootsamsung.qmg that I found on the internet.

Now the glowing SAMSUNG screen is directly after the SAMSUNG screen (no MetroPCS)

If you want, you can remove the glowing samsung screen by not copying over a new bootsamsung.qmg. This leaves only the SAMSUNG screen and then a blank screen until the OS loads.

I included a new .qmg file that does not have the MetroPCS screen for download.

EDIT: I attempted to download from mediafire and AVAST brought it up as a threat.

If you want to download it from where I got it from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=778088

Hoping to revive this thread, After reading it I tried to change the shutdown animation by renaming the frames in a video I decompiled. I used exactly forty nine files with the same names as the original files and replaced them. Now when I shut down no images or videos play at all. Anyone have any idea what I might have done wrong? Or if I how to do it correctly?
