Help Static noise when touching screen

I just got my Galaxy S3, whenever I touch an app, email, messages, etc. a staticky noise emits from the phone. It sounds like interference, but I don't hear it when I make a call, just when I'm pushing "buttons". It happens no matter where I am and I'm not sure what it is or how to stop it.

Any help would be appreciated.

That doesn't sound good; is this a new phone?

Does it do it in every environment, including outside?
