This problem just started a few days ago. I've had the Galaxy S II for almost a year and never had a problem with the sound when playing music. Now there is always some scratching sound, especially when playing hip hop. I've tried different ear phones so it's definitely a problem with the phone. Any ideas how to solve this?

You might have a speakerphone issue; or more likely, the media was encoded in such a way that breached the limits of your speakerphone causing the sound to "break/scratch"... your headphones may differ as its more capable of handling higher db/peak volumes.
Try re-encoding your music. Or to ensure it isn't a hardware fault... do test playback of media which didn't create the problem before.
