Help Status bar privacey?

Hello. How do I disable previews of my incoming text messages from showing in the status bar on my Galaxy Exhibit 4G? You can see these snippets of the message even when the phone is locked.

Secondly, i do not believe you can turn it off in the settings for the messaging app, however, I am unfamiliar with your device so I am going to move this to your device forum to see if some other users with your device have some input.
