I apologize if this is a stupid question but I really am at a loss and can't figure it out...Samsung note 3, mobile network state says-disconnected, the state never changes, however the the phone isn't disconnected. Verizon has even confirmed it's still active on my account and I can see it there on my account. The phone still makes/receives calls and texts same as before. Any financial account that phone and number were associated with for alerts-I've received 4 different notices for 4 separate accounts between 3 different companies saying the phone has either been disconnected or the phone is no longer backed by the manufacturer. Therefore the number has been removed from the profile associated with it. I also noticed the phone status says custom in the about section. Can anyone give me some insight or instructions please?

Status being "custom" means the firmware isn't as Samsung intended it to be for the device, and is modified. Usual reason is that it's been rooted and/or a non-original firmware has been loaded. Mobile network status is always disconnected but you can make calls and SMS, check the APN details are correct and present for the carrier, Verizon Wireless.

Thank you, I checked the APN settings and the details listed in the phone match what is listed here https://www.androidpit.com/us-apn-settings. When I checked the APN details earlier today I noticed the mobile network state still says disconnected but the service state says voice in service and data in service. VZ instructed me to factory reset the phone, which I did. When I was setting phone back up it gave me the option of 3 different profiles to choose from as a restore option....
