I recently purchased a Kenwood DDX5901HD head unit for my car. It worked fine with my Droid MAXX. However, the MAXX did not have MHL capability, so I upgraded to the Galaxy S5 today. Upon getting the phone I let it update to the most recent Android version (4.4.2), which after doing some searching seems like was a mistake.
My issue is this. I could initially connect to the HU via bluetooth, but it would only connect on the phone audio portion. If I tried to check the box for media audio or input device, it would turn gray for a second then immediately go back to the way it was before (unchecked). It was almost like it wasn't even trying. I read that clearing your cache helps so I did that and it connected to media audio after that as well as phone audio, but still no input device (I'm not sure if its supposed to though?). I've been trying to get the screen mirror/phone control working through the MHL cable with the head unit but I can't get the phone to output to the stereo (it just says no picture). Also, when I choose Pandora from the head unit, it just says "connecting". Pandora will not auto start on the phone, and even when I start it manually nothing will happen on the head unit. It will play like normal on the phone through the phone speakers (even though it's still connected via bluetooth for media/call audio).
So I guess in short: Pandora via bluetooth not working. MHL output is not working either. Am I missing an option for either one of these that I need to turn on manually? I checked the option in Pandora to allow bluetooth launches of Pandora. Any ideas?

Thanks!
