Still going after all these years

Back in the day, we didn't expect things to die the second the guarantee expired

Really ticks me off that 'guarantees' have somehow replaced 'fit for purpose'. If I buy a refigerator or a washing machine, I expect it to last at least 10 years coz that's how long they're supposed to last. If it dies after 18 months, it wasn't fit for purpose and the manufacturer should repair or replace it: they shouldn't be able to say it only had a 'guarantee' of 12 months and wipe their hands

...the mission's nearly 10 Earth years on Mars.

Does anyone here have a working cell phone that's 10 years old? Obviously it wouldn't be an Android since it didn't exist yet.

Congratulations to Opportunity - the little Mars rover that could.

Opportunity is a well designed and built piece of hardware. It had better be for how much they spent on it lol. I still think is it great that it is still doing its thing.

I had a working cellphone that was more than 10 years old, but couldn't use it anymore as analog cellular service shutdown.
