Help Still no JB: is my phone locked? (O2 UK)

Been waiting weeks now and still no update. Kies just doesn't work at all and no OTA update.

I thought my phone was unlocked/unbranded, from CPW on O2. Pretty sure O2 have pushed their JB update anyway so why am I not getting it?

Model: GT-I9300

Android Version: 4.0.4

Baseband Version: I9300XXLG8

im o2 uk too and got jb about 3 weeks or so ago - it wasnt easy though Kies is a total crock of sh*t! you gotta just keep trying - in the end i gave up with my pc and used someone elses newer laptop to do it

Cpw phones are unbranded. The update comes from samsung directly. Nothing to do with what sim card you put in it

I can't tell you that. It goes in waves. As experienced as I am with android, I've never done an official update.

Most carriers release the update to JB in the order that the customer activated their plan/service.

You can also try resetting the Framework Services from Google.

Apps > Settings > Applications (Application Manager) > "All " Tab ? find "Google Service Framework" and tap on it > "Clear Data"

After that, try OTA update, or plugging it back into KIES or powering the unit off and then on again.

If that doesn't work, you have to cross your fingers and watch paint dry while your Carrier gets to your phone.

No, you can still try the suggestion. Doesn't matter about branding.

As for skinned / unskinned... if features are more important, the samsung wins hands down. If speed of update, nexus.

For me, the samsung features are much better than the vanilla android experience. This coming from a vanilla android developer (or ex-developer now)...for me its worth the wait, although I never do
