Just stopping by to say hi to my old baby here. I still have her and let me tell you she's came a long way from.when this phone first started..I have them moved onto epic 4g touch and now a proud owner of the exhibit aka s3 mini var if I could still have this phone with the new os I would in a heart beat. G
Keep up then hard worm people

I still have the Prevail too. My wife uses it for an mp3 player and she loves it!

This little phone has came a very long way since the day I 1st purchased it. I remember when the original ShabbyMod was released. There were a few modded stock ROMs and then came CTMod, CM7, 187MoD-HoneyBread, MUIU, and Megatron. I can't forget the awesome themes from Gus and Dais either.

As far as Android, this is where it all stated for me The Prevail community is definitely one of the best sections Android Forums has ever had. :)

I know right. I came from the iPod touch 2g/4g and had this phone ever sense. I can brick this phone and it will work. Lol speaking of I have a partly bricked recovery. Meaning no download mode or recovery but my ROM still works which is cm7.

Yes shabbys mod was the first. I also found you can flash the relinquish mod to this phone and it still works cm7 was my first decent ROM for this phone. I wish we could back port it to newer phones. Right now I have exhibit. Its good to see the community still enjoying the such a wonderful device a work of art.

I still have this phone as well it was my first Android and is what got me into the whole rooting and rom scene I still pull it out of my old phones Drawer to dust it off and update it with the most recent rom :) I moved onto the Samsung transform ultra, I'm doing a lot of rom theming on that phone, and im now on a LG Mach :) but I still think this phone is a beast especially with the DEV community behind it

I couldn't agree more. I really lucked up having the Prevail as my 1st Android device. The members and Devs in this section are top notch. :D

I have my Prevail set up as a backup alarm clock and MP3 player. I still love that little guy. It gave me 2 years of heavy use and withstood my modding mistakes and abuse. Going strong after almost another year.

One thing's for sure bro. I couldn't have had a better phone to learn about Android on. That little Prevail took some punishment. Lord knows how many times a ROM, kernel, or mod was flashed on it. LOL!!!!

Oh.... I can't forget how nice it was having access to Odin either. Odin was and still is a phone saver. :) When testing a ROM, kernel, or mod went bad, it was Odin to the rescue thankfully. ;)

My Prevail is still rocking. I gave it to a family member, and it is still being used fully. It is a fantastic little phone for the price. :)

I absolutely agree with all of you! sadly, my original prevail was broken last summer in a fit of rage. I still have its pieces <3

anyway, I received two more copies of the phone on the latest stock firmware, and was oddly unable to flash anything onto either one of them :( but man was this phone a treat! like many of you, it was my first android device, and it still has a special place in my soul! the anticipation of new ROMs... the excitement if flashing them... the moment of glory when we got TWRP... and especially all the folks here! when I saw the prevail 2, I was real excited. I'm like "yes! here we go again!" but no... it is a disappointment. like going from exit path to exit path 2: more stuff, but not the same. but I'm done rambling now. it's good to come back after a long time!

can its brother phone the precedent handle some of the roms it has? i have the brother phone and would like to know if it can flash the basis of the roms the prevail has?

Never flash a ROM onto a phone unless it is built for that phone or specifically stated it can be flashed onto its brother phone. If it can be done you'll still have to change over to your carriers APN and possibly even the modem.

There are exceptions to this rule when it comes to Sprint, Boost, and Virgin Mobile phones like the S3. They are basically the same phone. The main difference is their modem and APN. There are also ROMs that have unified builds. I won't get into that since it doesn't pertain to the Prevail.
