Still receiving emails after opting out?

This is probably a faq, I don't know where else to ask this question.
How do I stop receiving emails from this site? I've opted out of reviving email notifications for alerts but I'm still receiving them. Help please!

Is it for older threads?

I had similar issues and I "unwatched" the threads manually (via a button at the top of the thread) and that seemed to work.

are some of those from threads older than when this forum changed software?

I would do as just mentioned, click the email to the thread, and then UnWatch it
