Root Stock AWE bricked

entourage

Lurker
I'm not quite sure what happened, however I've managed to render my AWE useless. Have not even tried to root it yet. I'm going to guess I ran it so low on memory that the OS is somehow corrupt (If that's even possible)
It powers on and pretty much immediately tells me that the storage space is running low. Then, as soon as I attempt to unlock it, I immediately get all the notification in the world that "Unfortunately, XXXXXX has stopped" and you can substitute XXXXXX with almost any system process or application you can think of.
Mobile ID, Facebook, My Account, Google Partner Setup, Gmail, Hangouts, android.process.acore, etc...
Eventually, I'm able to get get beyond all of the pop up messages and I can see that out of 1.95GB, I have 66MB available. I've tried deleting files, Pictures for example, but each time I try to browse to them I get another "Unfortunately android.process.media has stopped"
I've tried factory resetting it from the OS and from Recovery and neither take it back to original.
I've tried enabling debug mode in order to root it, however that crashes as well.
I've followed directions on booting into FTM mode and using adb, however when I do adb devices all I see is:
? device
and gives me an error if I try to reboot into the bootloader.

Also, I've tried applying the update.zip from ZTE but it fails at 25% like this person:
zte n800 stuck at green android

Any help would be much appreciated. Not trying to save anything on here, just trying to get the phone working again.

So you did a factory reset and it doesn't reset? Weird? Do you have stock recovery on it? I'm embarrassed to say I don't even remember what the stock one looks like...
If you like, try putting TWRP recovery on it, the instructions can be found here (just stop short of flashing the LAwe Rom, unless you want it; personally I like it):

If it's not found as an ADB device, you probably have some issue with the drivers, have you tried to delete them, and reinstall?

Here is a link to the universal ADB driver that worked for me:

Yes, I'm on the stock recovery. Here's a pic to remind everyone what it looks like.

I've tried each of your suggestions, however the problem seems to be that I can't enable USB debugging. Getting into the OS is pretty much not possible at this point, so all I can do is FTM mode and stock recovery.
I'm able to fastboot boot recovery.img (from the latest TWRP) however when I sideload it, it says it works, but I try booting into recovery and get back into stock instead of TWRP.
I also went ahead and tried installing L-AWE but the message I got was:
set_perm: some changes failed
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sideload/package.zip'

Did u do the factory reset ? There is an unbrick kit u can try if u haven't all ready

Yeah, from stock recovery I did a factory reset and it didn't touch anything.
And from looking at the brickfix (if we're talking the same one) I can fastboot into a version of twrp, it just seems that I can't really do anything from there.
