Stock browser on Galaxy Note (android 2.3.5)

Is it just me or stock browser on android 2.3.5 slows down after 20minutes of use. It starts up great, runs beautifully for the first 15-20minutes but then slows down and works like 50% of the original speed really choppy and i am talking about when i hold the phone side ways. For some reason it all really depends which way the web page is displayed on the screen. Is there a fix for that or is it just the way it is.
I have started using Dolphin HD and its not as fast BUT the speed is consistent throw out the use and i love the fact it does not close the browser if i jumped out of it and navigate to a different app.

Clear the junk out. I don't keep history, passwords, location or anything the browser thinks it wants. Doesn't slow down. You can clear via the preferences menu.

The default browser on the SGS4G has both Classic and Mobile modes. I can get to a regular website using classic. Dolphin just uses mobile.
This means that if I use Classic mode, Yahoo isn't trying to get me to download their mobile app.
