Stock email app issue

Hi all,

My coworker recently got a Galaxy S3, and keeps coming to me with questions because she's not very tech-and-gadget-savvy and because I've had an S2 for a while. However, I'm not that savvy either and can't really help with stuff I havn't dealt with on my S2.

She's having this issue with her email (the stock email app) where it just displays email from "Today" - clearly says "Today" at the top (with a checkbox, which just selects every email in the inbox when you click it, because they're all from today), like it should be a sub-category, but there doesn't seem to be any obviously-visible option to widen the view to other days. And even when she tries to search, it only searches emails from today. She can't access any older emails. She says it wasn't like that at first, so I think she or her kids must have accidentally selected some option I'm not aware of, but I was poking around for her and didn't find anything.

Anyone know what's going on/how to change it to display more than "Today"?

Thanks.

She needs to look in Menu>Settings>Sync, Send & Receive>Download Options, and choose an option to suit. I find selecting By Number of emails best and ticking 200 messages so that all my emails from the server download. I have my server set to delete after 14 days anyway plus they all download on to my laptop at home each day as well. So I can chose which to keep and my phone and which to delete.

"Download options" doesn't appear as a setting under Sync on her phone. There's only a screen where you can select the frequency that you want it to sync your sent and received messages.

I would suggest that you go into settings, applications, manage applications, all, mail, clear data. Then set the email account up again by launching mail.

From the Mail app select:
Menu>Settings>Sync, Send & Receive>
You should be looking at a screen that has Sync schedule at the top for peak time sync, peak times, and off peak sync. Below that should be the sync options with Download options at the top of that list.
