Help stock email app

Just gotten a N5 and I have a question about the stock email app (NOT the Gmail app) on KitKat which is pretty much the same as the N4 app as far as the basic workings go .

Is there a way of limiting the size of a download, basically preventing it from downloading huge attachments when using 3G? My previous HTC stock email app had this feature.

Also, I have set the incoming details to never delete mail from the server, however it continues to do so when I delete them from the phone. I have set this up as a POP account and it works with all my other devices set the same way.

If it's similar to the other stock email apps, there should be an option to download attachments automatically on wi-fi, but nothing about when on data. Mine syncs with an exchange account and I have to manually download attachments when I'm not on wifi.

I just tested it and it seems to automatically download attachments only when on WiFi. So that's one problem sorted, thanks!

Now I just need to find out why the emails are being deleted on the server even when I set it up not to do so. Anyone got any ideas?

I have not been able to connect with my exchange server at work with the native e-mail app. I am using one from the play store that works ok but the calendar is not intergrated into the native calendar . Also it costs over
