Help Stock email apps keeps freezing

The stock email app keeps freezing and a message asks me if I want to close it. I do and it happens again. I reboot and it still happens. When it freezes, it freeze the whole phone.

there only seems to be a stop button under manage applications for it and it is greyed out.

What should I do?

did you disable any system apps recently?

not that i'm aware of, I tried stopping this one previously and it warned me that it may not work right if I Stopped it, though I had to because of the freezing.
