Help stock email client questions

so I've had my captivate for about a month now and LOVE it.

I three email clients running on the thing right now trying to figure out the best way to get my email:
- gmail app loaded and getting my gmail
- stock email client running and getting my work exchange mail
- touchdown demo running and getting my work exchange mail

a few questions and maybe someone here can help me out:
1. I like the touchdown client look and feel, etc. however it seems REALLY slow. When I open it it takes a long time to load my messages, calendar, etc. I don't have push enabled so I would think it would come up much faster!
2. with the stock client -- is there a way to change the colors or any layout?
3. with the stock client calender -- it works well -- however can I change the colors of the calendars? Right now my work one uses this dumb dark purple that is impossible to see against the black background with black words....messed up

what are some other clients I should look at? I like having my gmail separate -- so mainly I'm looking for THE BEST exchange client that is as fast as the stock client.

1. Lag in touchdown is attributed to file system lag - hopefully the lag fix by supercurio (changes the RFS filesystem to EXT4) will get ported to captivate soon.
2. No - all you can do is change the email background to beige - the energy saver option
3. No - no color changes here either.

One reason i am waiting for Froyo - Exchange integration is stock - including calendar. Hopefully much improvement.
