Stock Files: Deodexed & Unmodified ROMs, Recovery, Kernel

Thank you so much for helping with this phone (ZTE Speed). I would usually never buy a phone that couldn't be rooted, but I just needed a backup phone and it was only $20.

Any eta on getting TWRP out to us?
 
ETA? Not yet.. Our guy has been busy racking his brains with CM13/MM for our Warp Syncs. I'm sure he'll hook you guys up when he gets past his stresses. He did say he'd look into it tho. [emoji41]
 
Can someone run the following commands on your rooted device and upload the 2 resulting files (parts_byname and parts_mmcblk) which will be created on your /sdcard?

Using adb shell:

adb shell su -C "ls -al /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name > /sdcard/parts_byname"
adb shell "cat /proc/partitions > /sdcard/parts_mmcblk"

Using terminal emulator:
Code: 
cat /proc/partitions > /sdcard/parts_mmcblk
su
ls -al /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name > /sdcard/parts_byname

I don't think so, but now I am confused because they uploaded a TWRP backup. Last I checked you need TWRP to create this backup.

Anyway, in order to build TWRP, I need the full list of by-name directories and their mmcblk couterparts so I can determine all the partition sizes.

I had them use Online Nandroid by ur boy H3r3t1C.. So they uploaded both a TWRP backup and CWM backup, plus Flashify copies of the boot & recovery

Oh right, forgot about that :) Still need someone to run those commands and upload the files to build TWRP. It will just take a minute as they will be very small. Fighting with the kernel source right now. Zte has done a wonderful job messing it up again lol

I will try it over weekend.

here are what I got from last time I temporally rooted the phone.

In /dev/block/platform directory, I found 2 folders 7824900.sdhci and 7864900.sdhci.
In 7824900.sdhci, there are folders by-name and by by-num
In 7864900.sdhci, there is only folder by-num.

In /dev/block/platform/7824900.sdhci/by-name , I found out that
boot -> mmcblk0p23
recovery -> mmcblk0p24
system -> mmcblk0p31

Thanks, but really I just need the partition sizes and those 2 commands I posted will achieve that goal :)

Currently having a ton of trouble with this kernel. It keeps crashing my machine lol. Go Zte :cool:

You're still Rockin' tho!! Ty- again, sir. These guys got left behind like a MoFo and trying to help show a little Root Love! If in depth testing becomes an issue/needed just let me know and I'll grab/order one today.

Someone will need to test it when I get it built :p However, it should not brick devices even if it does not work since you don't need recovery to boot to Android. You have the stock recovery.img so it would just be a matter of flashing that from flashify if things go badly.
 
Exactly & understood. I'm hoping that the Speed guys will do a good job for ya but I will get a devving device if you need.
 
I have flashed the img with flashify.
After reboot the phone, it took very long time stuck on red led, so I long pressed the power button.
Now, when I press power and volume down together, the phone still goes to factory recovery not twrp recovery.
Is there anything I missed?

Flash with flashify to recovery partition. Keep your stock recovery handy in case you need to restore it.
