Help stock messaging app SLOW

I have been using the stock SMS app. It has been fine up until the past few days. Had it about a month now.

It takes FOREVER when I hit the back button from a message thread to go to the menu showing all my message threads. I mean like 5 seconds. I know this sounds fast, but it has always been instant. Now also when I send a message, it takes about 5 seconds to show up on the thread screen as sending.

I haven't done anything that I know of

Anyway, the messaging apps in Android do need cache and data clearing from time to time, especially if it is configured to keep hundreds of messages. You can archive the messages you want to keep, in various ways, including moving them to an online service or your computer's hard drive.

After the cache and data clearing you should reboot the device.

did you just clear your old texts or did you archive them? i'd be curious to know about the archiving process
