I am not aware if any of you guys are having this problem, I updated to ICS and absolutely love it, but I noticed that Handcent which I have been using for a few years now on many a phone is having problems sending messages half the time, It random with random people so I cant pin down one situation that makes it stop.

If I use the stock messaging app then my text go though first time all the time, but I dont get notifications anymore though the stock app.
And yes I have gone into settings and I have it turned on it should be notifying me with a alarm sound and vibrate.

If I use handcent I always get the popup and the notification in the notification bar and sound+vibrate works just fine. Turn that off and start to use the stock app again... No sound+vibrate... Anyone else have an idea?
 
Actually I get this with my Razr as well, and I use the stock app (not sending messages). It has been doing this ever since I got the phone, not only after the ICS upgrade. And Verizon really is not being of much help to help solve the issue for me.

The only way I can get a message to send when it does this is either turn it off and on, or turn airplane mode on then off.. pretty big inconvenience if you ask me.

And I use to use GO SMS but decided I liked the stock look better (on ICS) and switched back to stock and also encountered the no sound and no vibrate. I uninstalled GO SMS and then the phone started to notify me when I got a text.

So my guess is uninstalling Handcent will solve the issue with no notifications through the stock app like it did with me and GO SMS

I really liked Go SMS Pro. I has so many options and skins. In particular, I like how you can get repeated message received notifications in case you didn't hear the first one.

However, I had problems with sending out pics (MMS). A lot of times, it would just keep sending and never finish. This is with 4G on. There is no option to stop it and resend. I eneded up uninstalling it because stock ICS text messaging just works.
 
I use the stock texting app and have disabled the stock notifications and use SMS popup for notifications. Haven't had any issues with failure to send or receive and been on ICS for a bit.
