Okay so it seems that to apply the 2.2 update on a rogers Liquid E, you need to have a stock recovery. Do you know where I can get my hands on one, as I'd very much like to update my handset.

Just visit the Acer Canada website and download the the zip file for Rogers. Unzip the file and read the instruction on how to flash the file to update to Froyo. Good luck.
