Root Stock ROM for the Breakout

Did anybody create a nandroid backup of their Breakout with all of the bloat? There's a Pantech Breakout Software Upgrade that fails to install for me, I presume because I'm missing all of the bloat apps (which I think you need for it to patch correctly). I bought it used off eBay and the previous owner had rooted/removed these apps already.

I'm not sure how new or old this update is, but I do want to use the updated radio if anything for "improvements in mobile hotspot limits device resets and lockups" and "improvements in device stability prevent resets and improve network connections". :p

Sounds good! I will see if I can't get the recovery install method going a little better. I am trying to work around not using fastboot as the drivers can be a pain to deal with.

Hey I was just wondering if you knew how to package an apk file in a update.zip file? If you can I just need an update.zip file that contains backup assistance and can easily fix my phone :)

To follow up my previous post, I ended up using someone's system dump to rebloat another nandroid backup (added all the bloatware apks back), reverted to stock recovery, and installed the OTA update successfully (including updated modems).

I found out after that that root seemed to be broken on the update (and also it seemed to overwrite custom recoveries upon boot) so I flashed mtmichaelson's CWM recovery, rebooted back into CWM recovery (so that it wouldn't be overwritten by stock recovery again), flashed an older nandroid backup (pre-update) using advanced restore, and now I have root again with the updated modems, which is all I really cared for out of the update.

I just hope that the updated modems are actually an improvement and not worse, because I don't know how to downgrade those now.

Where did you get the recovery from and what method did you use to flash it?

Got it from mtmichaelson on IRC chat, flashed using fastboot mode (with phone off, hold back button down while plugging phone into computer, hold back button until fastboot screen shows up).

So I rooted using SuperOneClick. I do not have a great grasp how to go about getting this phone back to the necessary condition to update the firmware. I froze the system updater and i am hoping for the best on that but would like to get this up to date if possible. Some easy step-by-step directions would be appreciated if possible.

Hello i have this problem tonight could you please post the nandroid zip file you used to flash it back to the original rom i have a cwm recovery installed on it but i need the files for a stock build Thanks

I don't know if there have been any OTA updates for the Breakout recently (past 2-3 months) since I haven't been able to keep my verizon service. But I did get the files I needed to unbrick my phone and have since cooked them.

Is this CWM flashable?

I finally got fed up with the onboard memory of this thing - but I don't have the first clue how to go about doing any of this to my phone. Would anyone be able to help walk me through it, please? Or just point me to somewhere that'd be able to show me how to do it?
