Root Stock Rom Theme Help?

Phubu

I was thinking of giving the ICS look to the M stock rom like i did to reppard's, but there is no t-mobile theme chooser support therefore I'm not able to change the status bar and drop down menu (They stay white). I was wondering if there is anyone that has knowledge modifying apk's that can change both things to look like the one on ICS? or as close as possible. If any one wants to help out, feel free to let me know, Its a small and simple project i wanna put out, all we need is that.

ha oops I think i read it wrong.
you can decompile the framework-res.apk and the color settings should be in the res/xml files

Have you tried UOT kitchen yet? I think the OM is Froyo if I recall. Which means you would only have to upload the Framework-res.apk and do the editing there. Lots to choose from. status bar, icons, lockscreen. Hope this helps.

Looks very helpful but how do i even begin?

Begin by extracting the framework-res.apk from the froyo rom. So you may need to go and extract it either through adb or with an explorer(Root Explorer) And navigatate to system/app I believe. Copy it to your sdcard then copy it onto your computer. Then upload it to the UOT kitchen. Its a site(you can google uot kitchen). Once thats done there is a variety of things to do. They have statusbar colors, icons, lockscreens, bootanimations. Its basically just a look and choose type of thing. It really doesn't take much. Mostly if you want the statusbar type of style going on, you need uot. When it comes to icons such as when the usb is connect adb(etc...) I think it would be more of a ninjamorph metamorph type of thing to drag into the workspace folders. So basically what I'm trying to say is. Just experiment right now with framework-res.apk in UOT, once you have your statusbar done, check if there's a way to change the ways the icons look, if there isn't then that leaves no other choice but to use ninjamorph I guess.

if you have the rom on your computer just open the zip file and navigate to /system/framework/framework-res.apk and just drag it out to your desktop

Did it come out alright?

1st one came out pretty str8 but the section with the wifi, Bluetooth, etc... stayed the same i didn't like it.

2nd one didnt flash, i was getting a couldnt read/open zip error.

I will be trying out again in a while.

EDIT: Meanwhile i found an app called ICS StatusBar, it changes the top bar and icon's to look like ics, but doesnt change the dropdown section (stays white) Fugly! lol
