Same here, man. Yeah it doesn't automatically update.

Only because they've only put 2.2.2 on new mobiles and haven't done an OTA update.

oh.... so this begs question... will VM update the OS on my phone (to 2.2.2) automatically? Or is this something i have to initiate? I'd rather stick with 2.2.1. if I can.

When they did the 2.2.2 OTA for the Intercepts some (not all, but some) people got a popup box on their screen alerting them of the update.

The reason I say some and not all is because I never got the popup box. I just went into the settings and gave it a try and it began the update. Most people did get the popup though.
