Help Stock weather widget not updating

Does GPS have to be turned on for it to update the location? Im sure it use to update when GPS was off. Even tapping refresh did nothing.

Edit: Did a restart of the phone and now it updates without GPS being on,Is it just a rubbish widget?

It's a rubbish widget. Will work fine for a few days then stop. A restart will sometimes get it going again, sometimes will start working again of its own accord after days of not working. Totally useless as you never know if the information displayed is correct.

Thanks thought as much,Did do a search on here but couldn't remember if GPS had to be on.
